Requirements

The following prerequisites will be necessary to accomplish the goals of this article:

  • Have access to your Hotcakes store administration
  • Have more than one image to apply to a product
  • Be familiar with proper sizing of images

Getting Started

If you haven't done so already, have at least one or more web-optimized images ready to upload.

Products: Additional Images

You'll find "Additional Images" in the left panel, after choosing a product to edit.

When you first arrive here for any product, you won't see any additional images yet.  It will look something like this.

In order to add an image, click the “Choose File” button.  You'll have the opportunity to find and select your image using the same file tool you use for anything else on your computer.  You may only upload one image at a time.

Once you've found your file, select it, then click the "Add New Image" button.  Your new image will appear in the grid below.

Column Description
[no name] This first column allows you to sort the images in whichever order you prefer.  This will change the order that the images appear to your customers.
Image Preview The image you see here is the "small" version of the image you've already uploaded.
File Name This is the name of the file before you uploaded it.  If you wish to rename the file, you should rename it locally, then delete and replace the image here as if you were uploading a brand new image.
[no name] This is an editing column.  The only option you have here is to remove the image.  This is a permanent action that can't be undone.  If you accidentally delete an image, you simply need to upload it again.
