Products: Categories

Overview

You can create the categories in another view.  However, while you're editing a specific product, this view allows you to add this one product to one or many categories in a very simple way.

Requirements

The following prerequisites will be necessary to accomplish the goals of this article:

• Have access to your Hotcakes store administration
• Have at least one new category created that the product isn't already assigned to

Getting Started

If you haven't done so already, you should create a new category, or make sure that there are categories available that this product isn't already assigned to.

You can select the "Categories" page from the left panel, after you have already selected a product to update.

You can now add or remove this product from the categories you see listed.  It's as easy as clicking a checkbox.  Any category that's checked is one that this product is added to.
