The summary report is pretty much what it sounds like - you can get a summary view of what's going on in your store for the chosen time period. This will list individual transactions and various totals. Over time, you'll get to know this information and how it applies to the overall health of your store.
The following prerequisites will be necessary to accomplish the goals of this article:
- Have access to your Hotcakes store administration
- Have at least one completed order in your store
This report will not show any useful information until you have at least a single completed order.
When you first look at this report, it will default to showing orders and transactions for the current month. If you'd like to see another time period, simply select it.
There are two grids below the date range, beginning with an order summary, then a payment summary.
The order summary is most likely the reason you'll visit this view. The header count shows the number of orders and the number of transactions (in parenthesis). This is followed by the totals for each order and transaction, with a summary of all of those orders immediately below that.
The next section is the payment summary. You'll see a subset of what you might see in the Credit Card Activity report. You'll see each payment type, the number of transactions for each, followed by their total revenue.
