Overview
When you're seeking support in the community or in the official Hotcakes Commerce customer support portal (you're here), you may be asked what version of Hotcakes Commerce you're using. This article will help you answer that response.
Requirements
The following prerequisites will be necessary to accomplish the goals of this article:
- Have access to your Hotcakes store administration; and/or
- Be logged in with a superuser account
Getting Started
There are no prerequisites to getting started with this support article. This article applies to all versions of Hotcakes Commerce.
How to Find the Version of Hotcakes Commerce
In order to begin, log in using an authorized user account. Once you do, you have two ways to proceed to find out the version of Hotcakes Commerce you're currently using.
1 - Store Administration
The first method you could use is by navigating to the store administration area that you're likely already used to. This method doesn't require superuser access, but the other method does.
Use the correct method for you below to navigate to the store administration area.
When you're using DNN 8.xx and older, you can enter the store administration one of two ways. If you're using the Hotcakes Commerce control panel, you can simply click on the Commerce menu, or on any of its child menu items.
If you're using the default DNN control panel, then you can find Hotcakes Administration in either the Admin or Host menus. Clicking on either will take you to the same place.
When you're using DNN 9.0 and newer, you'll find Hotcakes Administration listed in the Manage menu.
Now that you're in the right place, simply scroll to the bottom of the page, and you'll see the version of Hotcakes Commerce you are currently using. An example of what that looks like is below.
2 - Extensions
This method of finding the version of Hotcakes Commerce requires that you're logged in as a superuser. Once you are, you'll need to navigate to the extensions listing. This is different depending on the version of DNN you're on, as illustrated below. Choose the correct DNN version, and then follow the steps.
When you're using DNN 8.xx and older, you'll be using an older control panel experience. You can find the extensions page by hovering over the Host menu, then click Extensions.
Now, scroll down until you find any of the Hotcakes Commerce extensions. They should always all be the same version.
If you're using DNN 9.0 or newer, you'll be using the new persona bar experience instead of the control panel we've used over the years. To begin, click the Manage menu, then select the Extensions view. (Due to a horrible flaw that exists in the usability of the persona bar, you'll need to click the Manage menu twice.)
Now, scroll down until you find any of the Hotcakes Commerce extensions. They should always all be the same version.
