Overview
When using PayPal Express Checkout, it defaults to requiring that your customers login in order to pay for their products. This is only a setting, and you can update it to allow your customers to checkout without requiring a PayPal account/login.
Requirements
The following pre-requisites will be necessary to accomplish the goals of this article:
- Basic understanding of payments
- Store administrator access
- Have or create a PayPal account
Getting Started
If you haven't done so already, create your PayPal account, or log into it so that you can access your account information easily and follow along with the instructions below.
Turning Off the PayPal Express Login Requirement
With PayPal Express, the default is set to ask customers to log in to PayPal (or create a PayPal Account). From your PayPal Business account, you can allow customers to pay with their credit card even if they don't have their own PayPal account. To enable this feature, you need to have linked your own credit card to your PayPal account.
Please Note:
In some countries, PayPal requires that customers pay by using a PayPal account. To confirm whether this applies to the country where your business is located, contact the PayPal support team.
Steps:
- Log in to your PayPal account on PayPal.com.
- Click Profile.
- Under Selling Preferences, click Website Payment Preferences.
- Select "PayPal Account Optional".
- Click Save.
