The ProductType class is the used as a view model to render the product type attributes in various views. This article will help you understand what's available to you in the view model.

Getting Started

There are no tasks needed to get started with understanding this object. 


The ProductType class will contain all of the details for a specific product type associated with one or more products in your Hotcakes Commerce store.


The following table gives you details on the various members of the ProductType object.  The descriptions are based on default functionality and the default Viewset included with Hotcakes.

Member Type Description
Bvin String The unique ID or primary key of the product type.
IsPermanent Boolean This property indicates whether or not the product type is a core feature. If true, this is a core feature and not created by an store administrator.
LastUpdated DateTime The last updated date is used for auditing purposes to know when the product property was last updated.
ProductTypeName String The name used in the merchant application to label the products that will be using this product type.
StoreId Long This is the ID of the Hotcakes store. Typically, this is 1, except in multi-tenant environments.
TemplateName String When used, this property allows you to set a high-level default template for products of this type to use.
